Edward J. "Ted" McLaughlin

Ted was born December 6th, 1958 in Dunmore, PA and lived in Mountain Top, PA. When Ted was about 4 years old the family moved to Bethesda, MD where he spent his grade school years and later joined the Boy Scouts. In 1974 Ted moved with his parents from Bethesda, MD to Houston, TX. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1978 and then attended Texas Tech University. There he joined ATO fraternity where he made many lifelong friendships. He later graduated from the University of Houston with an Engineering Degree. Ted moved to Austin where his career focus was computer network engineering. Ted also enjoyed learning about the latest technologies especially computer programming and the latest applications that he could find and master. Ted loved life. He was happiest when he was sure the folks he was with were having fun. He especially loved his dog Taylor. Ted also loved skiing, boating, mountain biking and of course spending time with friends and family. When his father became ill, Ted returned to live and work in Houston in order to spend time with Dad. He was a great support to Mom when she needed him, particularly toward the end of her life. Ted passed away from this life on August 13th, 2014. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Edward J. and Anne Marie McLaughlin and his beloved dog Taylor. He is survived by his sister Anne Fleetwood, his nephew Justin McLaughlin and his great niece McKenna. Ted led a wonderful life based on trust in Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
